The Argentinian legend Diego Maradona coached the last club in his career, the name of the Argentinian club is ‘La Plata Gimnasia’.
The three-time world champion country’s oldest club will come to Bangladesh to play two friendly matches. The Argentinian club will play a match against Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club, the three-time champion of the Bangladesh Premier League, next September.
First, the Bangladesh club was invited by Gymnesia to visit Argentina. However, in the meeting of Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi club’s football committee on Friday, it was decided to host the Argentine club first.
Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Secretary Faizur Rahman told Jago News on Saturday, “The gymnasium club will come to Dhaka in September.” We will play two matches against the team at Bashundhara Kings Arena. However, it is not yet decided that the two matches will be held on the exact date of September.
Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club’s Argentinian trainer Ariel Coleman also coordinated the friendly match between the two clubs of the two countries. He said, ‘We are trying so that both clubs can visit both countries. The Argentinian club will come first, then the Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi club will go there.
One of the two Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi club jerseys is identical to the Argentina national team jersey. After seeing this jersey on social media, the Argentinian club offered Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi club to play the match.

This 135-year-old club was the last club coached by Diego Maradona. Diego Maradona took over as coach of La Plata Gimnasia Club on 5 September 2019. Until his death on November 25, 2020, the coach of that club was the hero who made Argentina the World Cup champion in 1986.
